In the old Pro v2, I was able to add my dns-address to the twonky setup (ip:9050) but the new version of twonky 7.1.1 doesn't have the same network options and there doesn't appear to be a way to have twonky pickup the dns-address. Twonky is not used to stream to your mobile devices over the internet.
However, i installed trial version of the newest Twonky Server on my laptop just to see if the problem will go away, and voila, the problem goes away with the newest version of Twonky Server (8+ version). I've searched all over and can't find any resources on this. There are no subtitles when i stream movies over DLNA, with the current version on the WD firmware which is 7.2.9-67.5.0-77. Ive installed a Twonky media server which is working fine. Everything works fine but I can not play any media files from outside the network but can view them and browse my DLNA library. At my office, behind a pfSense router, I have a PC with windows 10. Twonky is a DLNA-Certified media server which allows you to share all your multimedia with standard UPnP-enabled client devices throughout your home. I swapped out everything perfectly with the 410d having the same setup and IP numbers within the network. It works up to a point, but then Twonkymedia's link to the media file, uses the qnap's ip address, and not the public ip address.
