Important note: in case you don't find the exact same profile, do not select a profile that resembles it. For example, duplex scanning.ĭo not worry if you don't see your scanner in the list not all scanners have specific scanner profiles. The scanner profile allows you to access features specific to your scanner. In this list you select your scanner profile. If Readiris cannot find automatically your scanner model, select it manually in the Scanner model list.

Readiris will, then, load the corresponding TWAIN driver installed on the system, and display the Scanner setting window pre-filled with the scanner capabilities, such as resolution, paper format, etc. If Readiris cannot find your scanner model, go to the Manual scanner detection section. To confirm the proposed device as the current model to be used in Readiris, click OK. If Readiris detects a match, it proposes the corresponding scanner profile in the Scanner model window. It tries to match the installed scanner with a scanner model or profile of the list of validated scanners in Readiris.įor the time being, this list consists mainly of Canon, HP and IRIS devices. When clicking OK, Readiris starts the matching process. To confirm the automatic detection action, click OK. The automatic scanner detection is currently possible for an installed I.R.I.S., Canon, and HP device.įor any other device, you have to do a manual configuration. Readiris 16 will try to detect automatically an installed scanner, its driver and will do an automatic configuration of any other needed settings such as resolution, paper format, etc. If necessary, contact your scanner manufacturer.

Note that some scanner drivers may not work under the latest versions of Windows.
In general, drivers can be found on the website of your scanner manufacturer.
Make sure you have the latest available Twain driver installed for your scanner. An Ethernet or wireless connection may also be used if the Twain driver supplied by the manufacturer has been engineered with that capability. Note: the scanner should be physically connected to your computer with a USB cable. Make sure your scanner is connected to your computer, and switched on. In order to scan documents in Readiris, your scanner must be configured correctly:
